SQUARE ONE & SQUARE TWO

BLACKPINK's two 2016 single albums, SQUARE ONE (휘파람, 붐바야) and SQUARE TWO (불장난, STAY), swing from swaggering party rap to a bruised plea not to be left. The vocabulary covers flirtation and confidence (설레다, 도도하다, 반하다, 분위기), the fire imagery of a reckless affair (불장난, 달아오르다, 애태우다, 불길), and the quieter language of a relationship going cold (툭하면, 침묵, 무뎌지다, 불안하다). Most items are everyday verbs, adjectives and adverbs a learner will reuse well beyond these songs.
