Elma, Part 2

The rest of エルマ. Hole In The Heart is the album's centre and its vocabulary of mending and dozing is exact - 繕う, 微睡む, 纏う, 脳裏, 口調 - while Walk supplies the plain words of travelling (石畳, 俯く, 錯覚) and Amy the words of things running out: 消耗品, 待ち惚け.

報われるto be rewarded (むくわれる)努力が報われた瞬間だった。It was the moment the effort paid off.
躓くto stumble, to trip (つまずく)小石に躓いて転んだ。I tripped on a pebble and fell.
口調a manner of speaking, a tone (くちょう)穏やかな口調で話し始めた。He began speaking in a gentle tone.
在処the whereabouts of something (ありか)資料の在処が分からない。I don't know where the documents are.
呑み込むto swallow, to take in (のみこむ)文句を呑み込んで黙っていた。I swallowed my complaint and kept quiet.
朝焼けthe red glow of dawn (あさやけ)朝焼けが山際を染めている。The dawn glow colours the mountain ridge.
零すto spill, to let slip (a complaint) (こぼす)つい愚痴を零してしまった。I let a complaint slip out.
誤解a misunderstanding (ごかい)誤解を解くのに時間がかかった。It took time to clear up the misunderstanding.
消耗品a consumable, something used up (しょうもうひん)文房具は消耗品として扱う。Stationery is treated as a consumable.
百日紅crape myrtle (さるすべり)庭の百日紅が咲き始めた。The crape myrtle in the garden has begun to flower.
待ち惚けbeing kept waiting in vain (まちぼうけ)一時間の待ち惚けを食らった。I was left waiting for an hour.
度胸nerve, guts (どきょう)度胸がないと務まらない仕事だ。It's a job you can't do without nerve.
裸足barefoot (はだし)裸足で砂浜を歩いた。I walked barefoot on the sand.
