New Jeans
NewJeans arrived in August 2022 with a four-track EP and no introduction: Attention, Hype Boy, Cookie and Hurt. The Korean here is the language of a crush watched from across a room — staring, reading someone's face, getting caught, pretending the meeting was accidental. Cookie is the densest track in the group's whole catalogue, and it fills the set with the vocabulary of a kitchen: baking, softness, sweetness, appetite and melting. Hurt turns colder, trading all of it for waiting, silence and a screen with nobody on it.
