About these sets
Letter To Myself. Letter To Myself (2024) is TAEYEON's sixth mini album, and its title track is a letter to her younger self: the words she swallowed for years, finally written down clumsily but honestly. Around it sit a dizzy song about falling apart together, a dive into someone's blue eyes, a walk through an unfamiliar city, a face that no longer looks like one's own, and a love the singer knows is a disaster. The vocabulary covers scars and self-expression, city scenery, and the words for things breaking, spreading and ending badly.
To. X. To. X (2023) is TAEYEON's fifth mini album, and its title track is a calm goodbye to a self-absorbed partner: she notices her own diary has gone dull, blocks him and turns off the light. The other tracks melt someone's guard, burn a relationship down to nothing, look down coldly on an ex, and count the cost of giving everything away. The vocabulary mixes the everyday language of dating and texting with words for excuses, pride and lingering attachment.
INVU, Part 2. The second half of INVU (2022) turns from wounded love toward recovery: a promise that a voice will stay unchanged, gratitude to someone whose embrace healed old hurts, a vow not to fall in love again, and a relationship watched to the end like a film in an empty cinema. The vocabulary pairs comfort words with the language of regret and relief, plus a handful of everyday adverbs for certainty and finality.
