Armageddon, Part 2

The second half of aespa's first full album Armageddon turns away from the title track's aggression toward warmth, escape and self-acceptance. "BAHAMA" is a summer runaway song full of ocean and beach imagery, "Long Chat (#♥)" is written in the contracted texting register of a friendship that talks all night, and "Prologue", "Live My Life" and "목소리 (Melody)" deal with growing up, refusing other people's rules, and the person whose voice feels like home. The vocabulary here covers seaside nouns, chat-app slang, and the feeling words these songs use to describe anxiety, comfort and defiance.
